What is a Mechanical Carpenter Pencil

Mechanical Carpenter Pencil

A Mechanical Carpenter Pencil is a best of both worlds pencil used for any project or everyday use. The durable case works well for any job site or project that might see exposure to the elements or extra wear and tear. We have seen the Bend Tool Co. Mechanical Carpenter pencil used on job sites by electricians, plumbers, construction managers, framers, carpenters, and more. In addition, you can use the pencil for technical drawings, marks for cuts on your boards, subfloors, and walls, or to take notes on paper.

Benefits of a Mechanical Carpenter Pencil

  • Does Not Require Sharpening - Like mechanical pencils, mechanical carpenter pencils allow lead to be inserted into the pencil housing. These refills allow for limitless usage and never require sharpening. However, if you need a precise line, some come with a built-in sharpener.
  • Legibility – Traditional pencil marks can be challenging to see when marking on rough surfaces. The thicker lead used in mechanical carpenter pencils allows for clear marks made on rough surfaces.
  • Refillable Lead – sometimes it is sad to see that great pen or pencil go, not with a mechanical carpenter pencil! Simply refill the pencil with the lead provided, and you are good to go.
  • Durable, Lightweight – the plastic housing creates a durable pencil that can withstand being dropped, stepped on, crunched, or whatever your job might throw at it!
  • Portable – most mechanical carpenter pencils come with a clip built on them to easily fit into your shirt pocket, pants, or any other clothing or tool you may want to attach it to! The clip also allows the pencil not to roll when placed on a sloped surface.
  • Functionality - The narrow cylindrical body allows for deep hole transfer marks and scribing in tight places
